Get rid of norton, it's a resource hog. Download something like AVG and spybot or ad-aware. These are better than Norton and your computer will thank you by running things a little faster. What happens?

Nothing much other than two programs doing on-access scanning instead of one. This will slow your computer, that's about all.

      Norton 360

      and doesn't slow my pc.

      Norton is trouble. Very Weak.
It has been said that cutting and pasting a response to frequently asked questions is a tolerated
practise. So, please forgive me. Let me state that I use this product and it is the best one out of
all the ones I have tried. I surf in really hostile environments too. (even porn sites after all I am a guy).
      SO HERE GOES.
If you Must use FREEWARE utilities. The best combination I have come up with is.
Comodo firewall, Spyware Terminator, and Avira Antivir, adding adaware2007 works great with this set-up.

THE BEST INTERNET SECURITY SUITE I HAVE FOUND (Firewall, Anti-Spyware, Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam, Pop-Up Blocker, Mail Scanner, and Parental Control) is from Kapersky. They have a Free Virus Scanner here. http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner They also have a FREE 30day Full Version trial here. http://usa.kaspersky.com/trials/home-users/internet-security-7/
Kapersky has been rated at the top ( #1 or #2 ) by the leading independant review and
certifying boards year after year. These certifying boards are not sponsored by any
AV companies ( like Norton or McAffee or Bit Defender, etc.) Their testing is actually scientific
and unbiased. I have tested and used many brands and this is the only one I use now.

u are talking about antivirus and spyware progs which are two different things no conflict should arise

I also agree that Norton is a resource hog, although it is a very good prog it has a lot of double redundancies that choke bandwidth and give false positives to some innnocent tasks.

You can, run an anti spyware and an anti virus programme but you cannot or should not run two anti virus programmes as there will be a conflict.

It is ok to run another anti spy with Norton but you can have only one anti virus. Don't try to run scans at the same time with them.
People say Norton is a resource hog, I don't notice it on my computer at all unless I am running a full scan. And that's with Vista another resource hog yet people tell me how fast my computer is?
