My computer keeps acting eratic once every so often it done it again before but i ran anti-spyware and search and destroy but nothing was found ? Anyone have any ideas its win 2000 and i can't get windows defender on this unlike my xp laptop. I have AVG anti virus running continously on the computer also.

Use some other software. Norton, Avast are free antivirus software. Ad-aware, Ewido are free spyware removers. You can download free softwares at http://fixit.in/antivirus.html and http://fixit.in/spywareremover.html . You can also run a free registry scan using utilities from http://re7.info

Type in google 'spyware doctor' its a free and powerfull program that gets rid off all viruses cookies ect quickly and easily its all I run mine on and it works at peak performance

It sounds like your computer is definitely infected with spyware.
Spyware can be a very tricky thing to get off of your computer.
My computer was infected very badly once, I thought I would have to get a new computer.
I tried downloading trend micro's free version, but that did not completely remove all of my spyware infection.
My computer kept acting weird, and it was so slow.
It wasn't until I was searching google one day that I found the solution to my spyware problem. It was called adware alert, and it has completely eliminated my spyware problems.

ur computer is infected by spyware/adwares/malwares, these spyware and adwares are trojans used by web masters to advertise thier website using trojans, when ur pc is infected, trojans will show pop ups in ur pc and alert messages, dont b worried, u can easily get rid of spywares and adwraes by using any free spyware removal or adware killer tools,u can download spyware killer and adware removals tools from the link below
