how do you rate this i have been told its better than commodo i had problems with commodo as there are too many pop ups eg when installing a program ect what are your views on this and what firewall would you recommend

i agree that comode v.3 firewall is quite intrusive for the average user if u liked comode u can still use their 2.4 version which is an awesome fw and doesn't give u th epop-ups due to not having the HIPS protection built in kerio is a decent firewall but is not the most highly rated ,however,i don't have the link in front of me 2 support that
i use on-line armor it is an awesome fw 100% leakproof and still has HIPS protestion but doesn't give u the annoyances that comodo does

it is a personal preference finding a tool which allows u optimal protection w/ ease of use…for me i have found that in on-line armor i am including a unbiased rating cahrt

Windows has a perfectly good firewall built in.

The built in Windows firewall is no good. A true firewall must give you protection from incoming rouge packets and prevent your personal data from leaving your PC. (Windows firewall only protect you from incoming rouge packet).
Therefore a true firewall as to be two ways. incoming/outgoing.
Commodo is junk. Same for Kerio Personal Firewall.
For over ten years I have used Zone Alarm free for home personal use firewall. Just this year alone 12052 intrusions were blocked. 375 additional intrusions rated critcal were blocked. Plus I test this firewal with "Leak Test", once per week with Gibson Research, a former Microsoft engineer with his own website.
