system antivirus 2008 and antivirus xp 2008 are BOTH in my computer and I can’t get rid of them.?

September 24th, 2008 · 9 Comments

These viruses somehow landed on my computer, but the issue I have is getting rid of them. I was thinking about buying an external memory drive so I could install the yahoo anti-virus online protection which comes with the internet service they provide. The reason being is that my drive doesn’t have enough memory to hold Yahoo’s antivirus program. But in the meantime how can I get rid of the two viruses prior to buying the external drive. Can anyone give me detailed step by step instructions, before I trade in my computer.

Did your computer reboot after clicking the link in the email that gave these to you? These programs are fake which the other awsner person doesn't know.

You got these from a fake E-card that's been going around. Don't click it unless you can find and beat up the person you get this crap from.

You can't uninstall it and the company that makes it isn't real.

The best option is a system restore from before you got this crap.

Tell us what OS your on next time! Don't click on crap it doesn't even say your name.

System Restore can be found in XP under Help and Support and so far for my clients has had a 100% fix of this problem.

Make sure you understand what you are doing is basic and easy but you should atleast google and understand System Restore before you start.

These aren't real programs and don't follow by the rules. These aren't virus' they are programs to scare people into giving money and personal details to the fake companies that make them.

Malware Bytes -Anti-malware removes antivirus 2008 and Antivirus 2009 (rogue antivirus programs) other commercial anti-virus/spyware programs failed to remove it from my computer but this small program works.
Nod 32 online scanner also removes antivirus 2008 and the variants of this malicious AV program .

If you know something about computers u can delete them from the registry and startup and then delete the folder u have in program files and temporary files. Try to open the registry from start-run ( regedit ) and then do a search “antivirus 2008″. If u don’t know anything about registry u will better reinstall windows. I don’t think that buying antivirus programs untill u will find one to remove this crap is a solution.

“anti-virus xp 2008″ is rogue virus disguise as an anti-virus product.

malwarebyte have created a free rogue removal tool for this problem
because recently thousands of people have been infected.

download to a USB pen drive and copy it to your PC
