Last time, I removed my speakers and when I put it back it wouldn’t play any sounds anymore. Just yesterday I was able to fix that by changing my speaker settings in realtek HD audio manager to 4CH speaker. It can now play music and sounds from media players but when I browsed the internet I found that it won’t play music from Youtube, imeem and all the sites, and then when I turned on the computer it won’t make that starting up sound and sure enough when I went to sounds and audio devices I confirmed that it really won’t play system files. It really bothers me,,, Please help.
I did what you said santhumnc, but it didn't work :'( I don't want to reformat my PC..

Go to start–> run–> type ‘devmgmt.msc’–> Here a new window is opened where you can find the list of drivers for the components connected. Check whether the drivers for sound are correct. If there is any escalation mark over there, then it reveals that the drivers have gone bad. So, you should install the drivers.
OR
Go to the above suggested path and click the audio device and right click the option of the audio and just disable and enable it again. Now restart the system.
The above two will definitely work.
If this does not resolve, then format the ‘C:’ drive.
If you don’t like to format your system, then ask a technician to check out the mother board whether the audio device is working fine.
