The application or DLL C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\fusion.dll is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette.
I just purchased Age of Empires III and installed it on my computer. When I tried to start it up, I got the message
This application has failed to start because d3dx9_25.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.
I went to Microsoft's website and found a post saying this is a common problem for a few games, and Age of Empires was listed among them. It told me to download DirectX to fix it and gave me a link. I downloaded it and tried to install it but that message popped up and I can't find any help via google. Ignoring this message results in an installation failure.

I have not experienced this exact problem, but it sounds like you need to update your microsoft net framework. Start by deleting your current net framework it should be in your add/remove programs list. then downlaod and install the net framework installers and be very careful to install them in order. 1.1 and 2 are named the same so be sure to rename them right after you download them. This should solve your problem.

After that you may still need to update your directx, if you have vista, get it from the microsoft page, if you have xp use the other.
