Hi, well i downloaded windows service packet 3 from automatic updates, but when i restarted my computer, and tried to go on the internet, it wouldnt allow me. Then i tried msn, it wouldnt let me, then i got frustrated about an hour later, and tried system restore, and it said, "The ordinal 325 could not be located in the dynamic link library SHDOCVW.dll."
I saw on an online guide on how to fix this problem, thant i had to copy paste SHDOCVW.dll from the "C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386" to "C:\WINDOWS\system32"
This would not work because it said that another program wasusing this file, i then tried it on safemode, and the same results came out.
I tried doing SFC /SCANNOW from the cmd controls, and it finished the search, and it seemed like nothing happened.
I tried putting in my Windows Xp Proffessional CD in the CD drive, and restoring it to defaults, but it said, that the version of windows i have it newer than the one on the disk.
I tried Using the cmd controls to copy paste SHDOCVW.dll to system32, but it didnt work.
I tried typing "regsvr32 C:\WINDOWS\system32\shdocvw.dll" into "run", and restarted my computer, but nothing happened.
I also tried going on safemode, terminating all processes, and copy pasting the file through the cmd controls, but when i try to terminate shvhost.exe it tells me it will shutdown the computer in 60 seconds, and in that 60 seconds i managed to copy paste, but it still said that another program was using this file.
As you can see, ive been working on this problem for a good 6 hours…
I have absolutely no idea what to do. Maybe if someoen told me the processes i need to terminate to make the copy pasting work, I could go on with my life again. Or maybe someoen can give me another solution to the problem, that hopefully doesnt fail like the others.
Thank you,
Amir

Hey, it’s me again!
I’ve been trying to provide you with another answer, but couldn’t reach you!
Well, I think your only solution will have to be do a clean installation of Windows.
Or, if you have some important files, that are not backed up, repair your Windows installation, and then copy the files to CD/ DVD/ USB/ External HDD, and then preform the clean installation.
Also, if you do this, I would recommend install in SP3 as soon as you’ve installed Windows.

Your .dll may not be corrupted.
Your options should be - reverting back to SP2 with an un-install.
Last option before re-installing Windows would be to perform a repair installation.
Remember that .dll file is NOTnetwork related

I had same problem that Amir had and suffered for day and half. I finally uninstalled XP SP3 and after reboot, I was able to access the Internet. I used Add/Remove program method to remove the XP SP3.
