for a few weeks now my windows vista its an hp pavillion dv6000 and the sounds don’t work at all. the only sound it makes is a beeping sound that goes off randomly or when im on aim and it beeps. my computer wont let me go to open volume mixer its in grey and non-clickable. even when i try turning the sound off by pressing the button on my laptop it still makes that beeping sound. any software that i should install online or should i take it to circut city this weekend?

that means you don’t have a soundcard installed on your system. or even if you have physically, it means that its not installed with the proper drivers so the os don’t recognize it. so what you should do is to determine if your system has a soundcard but not installed properly, determine its brand or so then download the appropriate drivers for it in the net, then install it on you system. ayt?

go into the device manager and check for hardware problems.
start
control panel
administrative tools
computer management
