Toshiba Satellite A105-S4074 for Vista?

September 23rd, 2008 · 2 Comments

My laptop is Toshiba Satellite A105-S4074

and I want to install Vista in my laptop :D

However, there are so many different type of Vistas

(Home,Basic,Ultimate…etc) and I don’t know

which version is best suitable.

(I don’t want too heavy version such as ultimate because

its gonna definitely slow my laptop down)

Is there any computer professional who can help me out?

Vista 64bit Home Premium is the way to go at the moment. It allows you to use 4GB of ram if you have that much (or chose to install more) It has all the advantages that you get from Vista (like the security) and the looks, but none of the stuff that you will never use (or the price tag) of Ultimate.

There is one issue, some programs wont run on 64bit os’s but that number is getting smaller and smaller by the day, 64bit is still the way to go (most companies like HP and Dell only ship 32bit because they got it ages ago when 32bit was much more popular and is a little cheaper)

Are you sure you actually want Vista?

Either way you’ll need to make sure you’ve got at least 2 GiB RAM if you want that crap (otherwise it’ll run really slow).
