When using the online detection and removal, do I need to turn off my other virus scanners? Cause when I did a scan, my Synamtec virus scan found a virus that was the w32.ircbot, and when the trend micro housecall was finished, it didn’t find anything… I got kind of suspicious and wondered what was going on here… Was there a virus that wasn’t removed? Was it just conflict? I ran spybot S&D, nothing was found…

symantic probably took care of it, that’s why the other two didn’t find it. No you don’t have to shut down your antivirus to do an online scan. Just be careful where you go with the online scans, there are a lot of them out there that give you phony results to con you into buying their software.
