I Have The Pro Version Of Trend Micro, A Couple Days Ago It Prompted Me That It Needed Help Fixing A Problem.
So I Go Ahead And Click On It And It Tells Me I Need To Do a Quick Update, So I Simply Click “Fix Now” And It Brings Up The Updating Screen And Starts To Update.
About 15 Seconds Later, It Says 100%, But Still Tells Me That It’s “Installing The Latest Update On Your Computer.”
And The “Stop” Button Is De-Acivated, (Whitch Means I Can’t Click On It.)
I’ve Let It Sit For Days On In, And Nothing More Happens.

Does anyone know what the solution for this problem, I contacted trend micro, I unistalled and installed and it worked thefirst time I uninstalled it but then this next go around it didnt even update anymore and its just going and going and going and yes I m also using Vista 64. I contacted tech support they escalated my case, its been 2 1/2 weeks and no calls since then. I think they have an issue with vista and they do not have the solution yet that is why nobody is calling me back…

Same problem here. I also am using vista 64 bit ultimate, and tried the uninstall re-install and have yet to get any type of response from TM IS 2009. I’m at a bit of a loss as I’ve never had such issues before with a security suite. Seems like we all have the same excact problem, and personally it’s beginning to drive me nuts!!!! Any new info would be greatly appreiciated.

The strange thing is my vista 64-bit wireless laptop runs trend micro fine including updates - it’s the desktop running vista 64-bit that stalls on the updates. Setting are exactly the same thing.

First did anyone here fix this problem. Second i ran into this with a friends computer and now suspect it to be the cause of something else not allowing TM 2009 to not update. Its possible some malware or other virus is interfering with trend micro, I will try the reinstall of TM if that doesn’t work maybe just a fresh install of OS will do it. Running Vista x64.

Same problem here. I have chatted with 3 different Trend “specialists” and tried three separate fixes to no avail. They keep having me do little changes, but nothing works. I am purchasing BitDefender and leaving Trend behind. They have a serious problem and cannot fix it. BTW, I have a Dell laptop running Vista 64-bit…

I’m having a similar problem to what I believe all of you are having. My auto update will connect, download the latest supposed update, and then say installing update………………….forever. I’ve let this process kill my six hour battery.
Right now I’m getting nowhere with their tech support. It’s not really the fact that they don’t speak english, or are falsely nice. It’s that they seem to have absolutely no clue!!! Multiple emails back and fourth… nothing…now i’m waiting to speak to one of their “next” level tech people, see if i can get a simple issue resolved. If not I will be asking for a refund and I encourage all of you to do the same.

Having same updating problems never finishing, but noticed one thing no one has mentioned. My problems started with a like 59.7 kb update. Hmmm, wonder if sabotaged update file from a disgruntled employee.?! Probably going overboard here, but it’s happened before!!
my system desktop vista 64

I have exactly the same problem! I am have vista x64 home premium on a dell laptop. Worked fine for 6 months, now hangs on “installing update”?
Could it be some conflict between MS updates and TM? Or Sybot Search and Destroy and TM?
So frustrating! Please help

Same story here. Just got a Dell 64 bit. Trend downloads, but does not install. I’ m over Trend Micro. I got it pre-loaded on my Dell, but I’m going to AVG. Never had any problem with them on any of my laptops.

I have the same problem. It was working fine at first but now it won’t update… it just keeps going for hours and when this is happening the malware protection is turned off and i’m afraid my computer might be compromised.
But has anybody found out how to fix this problem and make it update?
