I did Micrp Trend yesterday and did a full free computer scan. Tried to do the same today and it goes from http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ where it says "Click here for FREE scan". When I click on it, it then goes to a page where it gives me only two options… 1 is click to scan free trial or buy it. When I click on free scan this link comes up http://shop.trendmicro.com/trialpay/. It will not load past this page.
This past Friday or Saturday I received a email from someone to respond to a Craigslist listing. It said Whats up. I am interested in some items you have listed. I'm at work, please email me at home at _____@______.com with the details. I responded saying I had more than one item listed for sale and to respond with which one so I could provide info to them. Once I closed IE from Yahoo Mail, about 20+ screens kept popping up. I just downloaded IE7. When a new screen displayed it was trying to load 10+ tabs per screen with yahoo. Every time I tried to click the red X to close the page more and more kept popping up. I immediately turned off my DSL and shut down my PC. Since then I was assuming my PC was ok with the exception I found "Files and Settings Transfer Wizard" on my Start Menu for programs ran. I did not run this. Is it possible the virus? did this to transfer all my files to them to scam me, etc.
With this all happening, I am pi$$ed!!!! My PC is new and I have very little saved on my PC. From this point forward I just want to make sure what I do (check mail, create a word document or type any bank info or credit card info) someone hasnt accessed my PC to watch and record everything I do.
When I ran a Micro Trend full scan yesterday it said I had 18 threats of cookie tracker and it said clean now. I cleaned. It asked me to re-scan. I did that but then stopped the scan b/c it said 3 hours and I was going to bed. I am now trying to scan tonight and it wont let me continue.
Perhaps the hacker?? knows I want to go there and it isnt letting it load??
I have WINDOWS XP. Dell PC brand new less than 3 months old. Home office professional with Word, Excel, etc

It sounds like you have a trojan on your computer. It is stopping you from doing a online scan. It could also be messing Trend. Start your computer in safe mode with out networking. Do a full system scan. When done restart your computer go to download.com and get Malwarebytes, download, install, update. Restart your computer in safe mode and do a full scan with Malwarebytes. Good luck

Parasite Invasion & System Hostage counter measures.
There is, unfortunately, no "1 step, 10 second-fix" everyone would love.
Try malwarebytes to clean up your system:

Wave after wave of money hungry advertising schemes are sweeping the entire internet.
Don't let the battalions of external parasites into your system in the first place by taking an active defense posture to stop these guys on the threshold and keep 'em out. These steps will help, but methods (vectors) constantly change.

Use this feature to block unwanted advertising re-direct:
With NS running, down on the far right corner is a blue 'S' with a red line through it: right click that> tick 'forbid ——-' &/or mark as 'untrusted'.
(Ticking all may reduce interactive behavior; enable just enough to get what's necessary to view the page)

And worst of all, this spy/adware, records your clickstream & builds a profile of you with advertising conglomerate jackals.
