It's really a matter of opinion because everyone bases their standards on different things. I for one have been using Webroot for two years now and I love it. I used to use Norton for my AV and Webroot for my Spyware but Norton just got worse with each update. It would take over more and more of my system and would not allow me to just close it down when I did not want it open when I am playing games.
I upgraded to the Webroot with AV and Firewall protection and it's run flawless for me. I have never used Trendmicro so I can't give an opinion on it but Webroot with Anti Virus/Spyware and Firewall is fantastic and has never given me any problems. Webroot is good about detecting many big threats before they take over your system by shutting down internet access when it thinks it is being attacked.
Other thing I like is I have two HD with about 300GB stored on them right now. A full 100% sweep for Viruses and Spyware takes about an hour. Norton 360 took FOREVER and an hour is nothing when having to scan that much space.
