Every time i start up my PC i get this error
c:\windows\system32\kernel32.dll may be infected with Win32: patched-KS [Trj]
I have been using Avast anti virus for a long time and has been just fine for protecting my PC till now.
I know since this file is very important i cant delete it otherwise i will meet catastrophic system failure. I deleted a dll file once and sweet god was it hard to get my machine stable again but i managed to out of pure luck. Anyways every option avast gives me to handle this file is either delete( obviously will not do and wont allow me to either), Move to chest, repair ,move/rename but none of them work, the problem still persists.
Ive tried using malwarebytes anti malware program ( great program) which has solved some other problems but cant shake kernel32.dll.
Could someone please help me resolve this problem its very annoying. I don’t know how to repair this.

Download Dr Web cure it, if it (can) be disinfected this should do it?
If not copy and paste a kernel32.dll from a good computer to your system32 file and rename your infected kernel32.dll to oldkernel32.dll
Then restart your computer and go back in your system 32 file and delete oldkernel32.dll and you have successfully replaced your kernel32.dll (~8
Go into safe with networking mode and download Dr Web to your desktop and run a scan and cure what you can and delete all the nasties

You can download a copy of kernel32.dll and get info here:

This file isn’t part of windows (its a fake) it is made to look important so that users do not delete it. it is safe to remove. its the system32.DLL file that is the important one.
Hope This Helps
