trojan vundo?

May 2nd, 2008 · 6 Comments

I have a windows HP with vista home premium as my OS. I received the trojan vundo virus, that's what my 60 day trial of norton is telling me, I have looked up forums before, i have vundo fix, yet after I scan it with vundo fix, it notifies me that there were no infected files to be found. I did safe mode, and still said it's safe. My mozilla browser usually slows down so i just unistall it and install it again using internet explorer. But everytime I boot my computer up in normal mode, there's always a DLL. file erorr appearing. Always. So I just need a quick solution to fix it, otherwise my last alternative is to either switch my computer with warranty or call an expert. So if anyone knows a working solution because there's hundreds of them out there, but there has to be a few that permanantly delete this virus. Thank you for your time.

Hi I had this as well, no its not from porn, but a widely caught virus from many east european sites-mine was fixed by down loading "bullguard" free trial and scanning - it was quarantined and then removed.,

as vundofix hadn't detected anything, i guess vundo is not there. however vundo and other trojans like this are capable of downloading other malwares to the infected computer. these might be causing your problems. i strongly recommend you installing some antispyware to delete those threats and prevent them in a future. norton is NOT an antispyware.
if you are still concerned about vundo you can try to delete it manually using this tutorial: http://www.2-spyware.com/remove-vundo.html
