trouble with internet explorer 7 + mcafee?

i cant go to yahoo, myspace and many other websites. it says loading and never does. i CAN go on google, ask, live, and certain other sites…
i recently installed mcafee.
maybe mcafee is blocking something???
having same problem with opera browser.
but i tried using this thing called "bitcomet resource browser" and it went to any site (thats how im posting this question).

maybe i have a virus??

any ideas or suggestions on what i can do?
