I know this question has been asked already but the previous suggestions don’t seem to be working for me. Here is the problem: the malware is preventing me from accessing any website that might have programs allowing me to remove it. Also, I have tried installing anti-malware prprogram but they aren’t working. Spybot (already installed on my laptop) isn’t working when I click on it. I tried removing the damn thing manually but I haven’t been able to locate all the files mementioned. Tried installing anti-malware programs in safe-mode, that didn’t work either. I am getting really frustrated with the situation. I am know writing all this from another (incredibly) old computer. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is my only remaining option to purchase Bitdefender 2008 (have read good reviews about it)? Will a purchased anti-malware software even work?
Thanks in advance

Try downloading the free program super-anti spyware ( http://www.superantispyware.com ) on another computer, then burn it to disk (or use a usb drive) to transfer it to the infected computer. Install it in normal mode, restart and run it in safe mode. This has worked for me.

How to remove Fake Software, Toolbars, Trojans and Viruses:
Download, install, update and scan your computer with both SuperantiSpyware and Malwarebytes, delete what ever they find, if this fails to completely remove the virus/spyware download then update Avast and run a boot scan (click schedule boot-time scan and restart your PC), all the software below is completely free and safe to use.
SuperantiSpyware: http://www.superantispyware.com/
Malwarebytes: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php
Avast Anti-Virus: http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html
To protect your PC in the future you need to use anti-virus software and a firewall, id recommend using Avast and Comodo Pro firewall both are very effective and completely free, you should also switch to Firefox 3 if you are browsing with IE as its much safer. (links on my profile)
