uninstall in safe mode with command prompt?

August 31st, 2008 · 3 Comments

I Installed a program called Alcohol 120 in vista, driver was not compatible, how do I uninstall in safe mode with command prompt? Everytime I boot to Safe mode it keep rebooting like it does in reg. mode. Need to get the program uninstalled but computer keeps rebooting. Thanks Kwdaye
O.K. I installed it in regular mode, when the computer starts up it gets to the desktop ( I assume it's still loading drivers in background) and before I can get to uninstall it does a mem dump and reboots. I though if I could get it to run in safe mode I could uninstall it. But it does the same thing in all options of safe mode, safe mode reg., safe mode with networking and safe mode command prompt. Now, how can I get to regedit if computer won't stay up long enough to get there? Is there a way i can stop the drivers from loading before it reboots, so I can uninstall it.

Thanks, kwdaye

      1.run “regedit”
      2.Find “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{E9F81423-211E-46B6-9AE0-38568BC5CF6F}”, then delete that.
      3.Find “HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\32418F9EE1126B64A90E8365B85CFCF6″, then delete that.

Then to remove Alcohol driver you need to start Regedit then go to HKey_Local_Machine\System\CurrentControlSet\Services here you should find the Keys for the Alcohol Driver in version 1.9.2.1705, 1.9.5.2722 or 1.9.5.2802 a347scsi and a347bus, or in version 1.9.5.3105 vax347s and vax347b, delete these Keys and remove corresponding files from Windows\System32\Drivers folder.

      First command prompt is dos.
You will have to go into command prompt type if not there c: windows change directory by typing cd windows enter then type dir/p P stands for pause, when you find dir then you will have to remove all the items in that directory then you can remove that directory.

I would suggest you find a simple version of dos commands

Try starting normal and remove threw add and remove programs.

If this does not work you will have to go in threw dos to this program and remove.

The other option you have is to use restore prior to down loading this program.

I have a question why down load in safe mode what do you gain.
