My parents have McAfee through Comcast and I can't figure out what to do. I've already tried the virtual technician with no help- it recognized the problem but couldn't fix it. It also will not let me "fix" the problems on the main McAfee screen.
The problems it lists are:
detection signature file is more than 30 days old
some components are missing. Please re-install McAfee VirusScan.
Do I need to uninstall McAfee completely before I can reinstall it? Please explain to me how to do this through Comcast, since that is where McAfee comes from. If you need any more information to better help me please answer and ask and I will frequently check back to see responses. Thanks in advance.

download RevoUninstaller to completely remove McA and all other antivirus programs-then download McA again-close all programs-then install-then update-then restart-then perform full scan.

since it's run through comcast, can you access the comcast help desk? I'm wondering if the McAfee set up is different than just the way one would set it up from the store bought product?
