I can't uninstall this program! I tried the Norton Uninstall thingie from their website, but got a message saying I had to go to Control Panel and delete it first - huh??? Tried doing that again and once again was told I needed a password — what???
Tried someone's advice on here of doing the Delete Doctor 2, but was ultimately told I was prevented from removing a file, so I couldn't do it.
In the meantime I keep getting these messages from Symantic that some X-rated e-mail I tried to send couldn't make it to some e-mail address — what the heck is going on? I'm not sending anyone any X-rated e-mail and this is bugging me.
Please help someone — thanks a bunch!
Thanks for your answers!
I have Windows 2000 (old, I know!) and Symantic AntiVirus version 9.0.0.338.
I just tried the Norton Remove Program again and, once again, I get so far and then a message pops up (from them) that says I should go to Add/Remove Programs in my Control Panel and remove their software before I can run their uninstall! I tried that again and once again got the message that I needed a password to uninstall.
What a vicious cycle!
I appreciate all your help with this, believe me.
Thanks again for your recent suggestion. Alas, the same round robin happened (I downloaded the uninstall program and was told that I had to go to Add/Remove in my Control Panel, remove the program there and THEN complete the uninstall.
This is so frustrating but I really do appreciate all your answers. I can't be the only one going through this, right????

It might help to know which Operating System you were using and what version of NAV you're using. But without knowing that, the Norton Removal Tool (NRT) from the Symantec Website should work. It should not tell you to go to the control panel to remove it. That's what the tool is for, when you can't remove it using Add/Remove programs!
Be sure you're using the latest version of the tool and that it applies to your version of NAV.
Start at this website first, and go from there:
