Upgrading from Vista versions… help?

October 29th, 2008 · 1 Comment

Hello,

I was upgrading my vista home premium to ultimate.

While upgrading, will my hard disk be wiped clean? (I want it to)

Please let me know if the upgrade will keep all my old files on my computer, or remove them and essentially reformat my drive.

Thanks
Mark

When you are upgrading, you can do it inserting your Vista disk into your computer drive. Then it will start. You can decide to have you disk wiped clean and after it’s done installing, you should have a folder called “Windows.old” in your drive that Vista is installed. Or you can choose the “Upgrade” option. (This will keep all your files and programs. It will take longer than wiping your disk clean. If you boot from CD, you will only have an option to WIPE YOUR WHOLE DRIVE.

      Good luck!
