I recently purchased a major manufacturer PC and recieved what was referred to as Windows Vista Ultimate "Bonus."
The package consisted of the PC having XP Professional factory installed, but included a license (disc) for Vista Ultimate.
My question is: I would much rather run Vista Ultimate 64 bit as opposed to the Vista Ultimate 32 bit that was included. Is there any entitlement to the 64 bit license or is it an additional fee?
How would I go about acquiring the 64 bit edition by another means than buying another retail copy?
FYI, I still prefer XP due to my familiarity with the program, but I always try to "plan ahead."

If your computer is 64bit compatible then your copy of Vista should be 64bit as well unless it says 32bit. There is a 64bit version of XP which I would prefer. If you want a 64bit copy of Vista, you'll have to buy a legit copy. It's not worth using a pirated copy to upgrade cause you might lose everything.
Just FYI, further support for Vista was dicontinued for work on a new version of Windows since Vista had too many problems. Get a 64bit copy of XP before upgrading to any other OS and wait for a better OS then Vista.
