Uploading MPEG video footage onto a Mac OS X problems.?

August 4th, 2008 · 3 Comments

Hi
I am trying to upload video footage off a video camera onto my mac. I can do it onto my PC and then i can transfer it using a USB. However my Mac does not want to open the MPEG file because it says this is not a Movie File.

I have tried downloading windows media player and that hasnt worked.

I want to be able to view and edit the video footage using iMovie on my mac.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

What is the model of camcorder?

What operating system do you run on the mac?

To edit AVC type footage your mac needs to run OS Leopard (10.5)

You may convert your mpeg video to mov video, then you can edit it with iMovie or Quicktime player. If you don't know how to convert video on Mac, here is a guide for you
