Okay, so i've been using AVG free edition. A lot of people say that it's the best free virus scanner.
I think otherwise.
I needed a file from a friend. She gave me a USB with the file. Paranoid of viruses, i scanned it with AVG. AVG detected a Trojan/worm, and then deleted it.
I scanned the USB again to check if it was safe. The test revealed that "no threats found". Note that i am using the most updated version of AVG free.
I double click the USB and BOOM. Norton Antivirus, which always runs in the background detects a virus! It says it sent the file to quarantine, but apparently it's too late; the norton notification hangs.
From that moment on, everytime i start my pc, something bad happens.
I need a good scanner. I've tried everything (safe mode, system restore, command prompt, attrib -s -h -r., scan in safe mode)
this autorun.inf won't leave, and it's getting worse.
send me a link. I don't want to reformat.

try free avast.
but you'll proably need to take notes and get hijackthis and killbox to remedy your problem enough to run an antivirus.

Well you kinda need to purchase it. Its called Systematic Norton. It is the best. I have it on my computer and it blocks everything that is bad. Trust me. I went to a site that was harmful to my computer and it told me and would not let me go to the site unless I really wanted to. So I suggest you just pay for it and get it. Here is the link that talks about it.
