Go to http://www.download.com and search AVG or AVG free. It is a full version (the pay versions have more to them, but the only thing you really need is just the anti virus part which is free).
I have had this program for years on multiple computers and have had 0% issues or troubles with it. Its very easy. There is a scan computer button, you click it, it scans, and then if there are viruses, it puts them in a "Virus Vault" which you can clear out.
Very simple, and has never slowed down my computer either like some have (mind you, most of the time when I do scans, I get off the computer and do something else to let the scanning do its job)
