Uxtheme.dll problem: Can’t start up windows vista?

I was trying to install a new theme on windows vista, and the instrustions said I needed the take contol of the uxtheme.dll file and change it to uxtheme.old and then I had to reboot. After I rebooted I logged in and the operating system wouldn't start. All I could see was a blank black screen and my cursor.

How do I fix this? I have no access to my applications!
