Verizon Yahoo Norton Anti Virus Software is Broken?

May 31st, 2008 · 2 Comments

The Norton package provided with Verizon / Yahoo DSL has worked for years. Now, it cannot download live updates and, thus, I get a Symantec error box everytime I try to scan that says there are missing files so the scan is aborted. This is true for Spyware as well. Any ideas? Is my machine actually at risk as the application box says every time it can't run a scan?

Yes, you are at risk to new viruses.
Contact your ISP if they have furnished Norton.
If you purchased it, you should have a confirmation number and with that can re-download the latest version.

Can you find the program in your control panel, under programs ? Check to see if you have a virus. Mine did that last week., I found one and removed it now the Norton is there again.
