videos play slow and skip on my computer?

it's got 2gb's or ram, 250 gb hardrive, 2.0ghz athlon x2 proccessor..

all the videos skip..on VLC media player, Windows media, windows movie maker, but on youtube and online there fine..

tell me what's up plz
no virus scanner.
um it's regular mpeg video..from a digital camera..

      Your PC is at enough spec to play videos fine.

      1st. What type of the video files are u tiring to play.

      2nd. Download Codecs Pack K-LITE http://www.download.com/K-Lite-Mega-Codec-Pack/3000-13632_4-10794603.html?tag=lst-3&cdlPid=10794602

      3rd, go to http://www.divx.com , and download codec.

      try playing now.

      P.S. Check that Virus Scanner is not scanning file, sometime scanning files can make ur PC slow.
