My roommates TOshiba PC running on Windows XP had a bunch of trojan horses, and i used a free Microsoft One Care scan to remove them, but now there are 2 problems:
1) There are page-loaing errors when I try to go to ANY antivirus web address (like AVG, Mcaffee, system doctor, etc) the PC blocks them all.
2) Every time I search on google and then click on a link, an ad page pops up!
Can you help?? Any information is greatly appreciated.

try mbam from http://www.malwarebytes.org, it seems to be best against the more recent malware. Also give superantispyware from http://www.superantispyware.com a shot.

not really sure about this, but give it a shot?
try going to msconfig and check your start up programs. uncheck any suspicious programs( possible trojans) and restart the computer.
also try installing antivirus programs like avg 8 or avira antivir(my personal fav) in windows safe mode and try running a scan. avast antivirus offers boot time scan also. finally install an antispyware software like spybot s&d to keep out the spyware. in case all else fails do a system restore or back up and format.

Microsoft One Care did not remove all the viruses and spyware. Your browser appears to still be hijacked. What you need is a software that can fix browser hijacking. You can find a program like that here at: http://www.spyware-fix.net
Good luck!

ok.. no problem. first microsoft one care stinks so you download avast 4.8 but don open uninstall any anti virus that you have no internet open and install now avast he will ask permission to run on restart and you will say yes don’t forget to regist everything its free. then restart the pc and don touch nothing.
