i try to buy the best version of vista sp1 for the least amount of money. I want to get the home basic OEM version, but my understanding is that it doesn't support both 32 and 64 bit . So my question is, does the retail version have the ability to switch back and forth between 32 and 64 bit, because if it does, i will just get that. Thanks in advance

if you get vista sp1 32bit, you can update it to sp2 for free.
