Vista burning programs?

I'm having trouble burning music onto CD with Vista.
I can do it no problem with Windows media player, but the CD wont play in my car CD player.
I have tried other CD's burned from my old computer (which used windows XP) and they work fine in the car, so it must be something to do with Vista.
I've tried downloading Nero 8 but cant get the free trial to work.
Does anyone know of a burning program that is compatable with Vista??
Please, no "I think this might work" programs. I just want a proven program caus my laptop is now about half full of burning progs that dont work!!
