Vista laptop using wireless internet with host XP computer..?

July 11th, 2008 · 3 Comments

Hey
My laptop won't connect to the internet if the host computer (the one connected to the router) isn't on and connected to the internet. It says I have limited connectivity when I try to connect. Basically, I get through to the local network but not the internet itself. I turned off the firewall setting on my host computer but it didn't fix anything. I also tried the "diagnose and repair" option but nothing happened..
is it a compatibility issue ?
any reply is highly appreciated.
the modem is connected to a router. computer 2(laptop) is wireless and the other isn't.
i have a speedtouch DSL modem..i'm not sure if thats what you want. :S
