okay unistalled corel snapfire and later it stopped functioning while unistalling so i turned it off. Turned it back on to see just my documents file in vista open and a blank screen. Could not see the start menu or my icons i can only open them through the open my documents when i comp turned on. But when i tried to do a restore everything worked fine i saw the menus and stuff. But when i turned my comp off and back on i could not see it. Plz help i dont know what happeend.

insert vista cd and during boot choose repair

Right click your screen then "view" and if "show desktop icons" aint checked, left-click it and see.
