I've gotten a virus or something that has changed my background to a sign that says:
Warning spyware detected on your computer
install an antivirus or spyware remover to clean your computer.
It has disabled the ability to change the background or screen-saver, and added a screen-saver where the screen stays the same, and bugs enter the screen, and starts "eating" the icons.
It has also disabled my sound-system, internet-connection and the tool you use to reset your computer to an earlier date.
I have a Dell-computer with Windows XP.
I have tried different tools I found when I googled what the sign said, and have gotten rid of the background and screen-saver(, but it deleted my computer-theme (standard XP)).
But I still have the problems with the internet and sound-system being blocked/disabled, so if anyone out there has the faintest clue to how to get rid of this, please help me, and I will be ever so grateful!

Im guessing that you have another computer if you can post on yahoo answers. Plug the infected HD into a working computer. Then use a anitvirus (i recommend AVG) to scan the HD and remove the virus. Another way is to boot the infected computer in Safe Mode (tap f8 when computer turns on) and do a antivirus scan and/or system restore. You can also re-install windows.
