Westinghouse monitor headphone help.?

My westinghouse 19" dvi monitor/tv w/ built in speakers has the audio out headphone jack, I put headphones in it but it still outputs the audio on the speakers, why is this? I need it to stop ;.;

      Check for the speaker settings of the monitor..Or see if there is any volume reduce button..
