I use AVG Free (8.0, but with the SafeSearch and SafeSurf, not to mention the toolbar, removed) on my XP machines, and NOD32 Business here on my Server 2008 machine — unfortunately, license terms prevent me from using any free antivirus on this machine, despite the fact that it's not a server, but a laptop.

AVG 8.0 is a good stable Antivirus for free. If you really want to be protected and don't take the free way out Norton Internet Security latest version would be good. If your going to go the free route then AVG 8.0 is the best. I'm using it on one of my Desktop PC's and Norton Internet Security 2007 on my main Desktop PC. I have a PC for older games (Not Avanced Games) and a PC for newer games (Avanced Games).
