What antivirus software is compatible with Trend Micro Internet Security? How can i make nod32 compatible?

March 17th, 2009 · 5 Comments

Nod32 Crashes my computer until i delete it when i install it with trend micro. I have a 64 bit vista home premium computer. I would prefer nod32 but any other good ones that work with Trend Micro would work too. Also, if there's anything that is a Security Suite like Trend Micro but better, i can replace it.
DERP i can just use nod32 as the antivirus and turn off trend micro's, so i can still use the other features of trend micro

Trend Micro Internet Security already includes an antivirus component.

You must NEVER use 2 anti-viruses at the same time.

This is what a Microsoft MVP has to say about the subject. You may also want to consider reading her entire web-page on "How to prevent Malware". It is one of the best that I have seen.

"Never install more than one Antivirus and Firewall! Rather than giving you extra protection, it will decrease the reliability of it seriously! The reason for this is that if both products have their automatic (Real-Time) protection switched on, your system may lock up due to both software products attempting to access the same file at the same time. Also because more than one Antivirus and Firewall installed are not compatible with eachother, it can cause system performance problems and a serious system slowdown."

You CANNOT run 2 AV products on the same computer. What you are seeing will happen every time, they conflict with each other.

Trend Micro is an Internet Suite with has an AV in it… you cannot have another AV with Trend…It will cause conflicts…

There is, however, a very good "Heuristics" program named "ThreatFire" which IS made to be used with you existing AV. I use it myself and believe me, it really makes a difference in protection..

As for Trend Micro.. it has not been getting very good reviews lately. You might consider trying ESET Nod32 by itself with Threatfire to see if that works for you…. It works well for me…

      GOOD LUCK !!!

You only need "ONE" anti-Virus program. Having more then one will cause conflict and crash your computer.

I recommend you just don't use multiple av's, I also recommend you don't use a security suite, because different 'vendors' are best at one specific thing, like I believe avast anti-virus is one of the best av's, and comodo is one of the best firewalls, which is what I use, for spy-ware, I absolutely love a-squared, I think it's the best ever made, then for more protection immunize your system with spyware blaster
