What Antivirus works to delete when others fail?

July 26th, 2008 · 8 Comments

So at the moment I have a trojan/malware/virus/worm I honestly do not know what it is…but it has prompted up internet explorer windows telling me I need antivirus software & than my current antivirus software tells me the sites contain viruses, which they do. Also a virus detection window on my avast antivirus pops up throughout the whole day, I ask to delete the virus it lets that option go through than 10 min later the same thing pops up, I've tried to manually delete these files too, they return & the source of it is unknown.

I've done Avira full scans,Disk Defrag, Bitdefender full scans, system boot virus scrans, avast virus scan, & ClamWin scan. None of these seem to get rid of anything if they even pick up a virus in the first place, if they do they fail to get rid of the problem. My computer is getting slower each time I log on. My internet windows popping up is gone, but the virus or w/e it is is still on my system for sure. So what do I do now? lol, thanks if you replied!

I'd use AVG, but if you don't want to download new Antivirus, use trend micro house call… Once you delete the virus, delete your system restore files, it could be hiding in there and coming back when you delete it.

Open my computer, right click on C, properties, disk cleanup, more options, system restore.

Also, if it doesn't let you delete it, try deleting it in Safe mode.

norton has flaws, AVG free is good but not coverage enough. for the scan search for trendmicro housecall for the original file deletion, and then get AVG free for virus scanning after.

It sounds like you either have a nasty Spyware bug or a Root Kit, but not a normal virus. I would recommend downloading the free version of Spyware Doctor. I have found that it gets rid of 99% of Spyware and Root Kits, and it free. What more can you ask for. The link below is for the "Google Pack". Obviously, you only need to install whatever programs you happen to be interested in. The best thing about installing it this way is that Google Pack makes sure your program remains up-to-date. Good luck!
