I have been asking around about limewire and I have been told that you can configure it so that people cannot upload from you. I have Mcafee security software, but I read that Macafee does not protect against p2p networks. I would like some answers and If you know a better way to get free safe music that you can download to portable deviceds I would like to know please!!!

ok, Im gonna try to make my answer as simple as possible:
#1 dont download programs off limewire/frostwire
#2 in Options, choose an EMPTY folder to be shared, so nothing really would be uploaded (copied) from you! and well, Avast Anti-virus is best anyway, since pirated songs (or any p2p) have viruses these days! sheesh thanks god I use ubuntu linux

Kaspersky Internet Security is a great program that really protects your computer. If you download any thing that has a virus or trojan once you open the file it will be blocked or quarintined. I use this program personally. Also try and right click on a file before you download it if you can browse the host then you should be able to download it safely.
As for sharing your music just go to your media within limewire and select my shared files and select all the files you dont want to share right click and say not to share the files and you should be good to go
