I currently use AVG Anti-Virus 8, Spybot - Search & Destroy, and Ad-Aware 2008 to keep my computer infection-free. What other GOOD anti-spyware/anti-malware programs could I add to my arsenal of security programs so that I could provide a few extra layers of protection to my computer system?
By the way, is Windows Defender EVEN ANY GOOD?
I'm not really a fan of Norton Anti-Virus. I switched over to AVG because it was free and it actually caught things that Norton was not detecting. I would do scans with Norton and I would get nothing. Then I tried AVG and it found a couple of nasties. So my trust goes to AVG.
Thanks! I added those to my list of security programs and they picked up crap that the other anti-spyware programs hadn't even seen!!!

Out of those, I'm not really a fan of Ad-Aware, the others are good. I would add:
Spyware Doctor Starter Edition
ThreatFire
Comodo Firewall

Norton Anti-Virus may help you but they are a bit bulky.

If u want to install security software u need a check list that it's some thing like the list below:
1-weight of program(To keep enough space on your ROM)
2-ping time on live search
3-debugging period
4-updating connection Protocol(some programs are wasting your connection speed)
5-it compatibility with your OS
6-tray access memory
if u want best anti virus compare these items in different anti viruses then select best one
my offer and my own software is CA anti virus I recommend it to everyone
