My girlfriend is on a laptop with Windows Vista installed on it, she installed the newest version of Windows Live Messenger AKA MSN messenger and when she tries to log in it freezes and stops responding. We have ALREADY checked firewalls/antivirus/etc and made sure she had updated internet explorer and flashplayer.

We can't use the browser version because we need to send files and do Webcam/Voice chat.
We have tried un-installing and re-installing at least 5 times

Google search msn online and it will be the first link, then you can use msn from your web browser!

The only thing i can reccomend is uninstalling msn and re-installing it again this should sort out all security settings and with vista you have to allow everything and unblock it as soon as it is installed.
If that doesn't work try google e-buddy and go on the website and use that it's jus like an online msn messenger it's just as good.

You might need to uninstall window live messenger and then reinstall it as some files might have gotten corrupt during the installing process. So give that a try ok. You can also go to System Restore, this will restore your computer back a few days or more before this ever happen. Good Luck

I have the same exact experience …. it won’t let me log in!!!
I did the same things, but noooo … I do not know what is going on!
If you find an answer please let me know …if I do I will do the same thing!

I installed Messenger Plus. It looks like working good. However, I am not able to write any letter in any chat. I tried every known thing but no use. It writes but it does not appear any letter. But when I press enter, everything written appears on the chat window.
