What could be the cause of the internet on my laptop and desktop computer to be running slow?

November 14th, 2008 · 3 Comments

I just recently bought a laptop, and connected it to the internet through a wireless router to my desktop computer’s internet. And just recently I have noticed that the internet on BOTH my laptop and computer are running slow. When I try to go to a web page it either says “web page does not exsist” even though I am correctly typing in the address, or it will just bring nothing up at all. What could be causing this?

Thanks.

An older modem might cause that and I only say that because it happened to me. We had a modem that was about 5 years old and both my desktop and laptop were slow. We upgraded to a very new technology modem and things work great now. It was exactly the problem.
