What does this AVG message mean?

August 24th, 2008 · 2 Comments

I am using AVG 8.0 Free. For a some reason, it will not update. There is a message below the Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware icons that says “Database outdated”. When I try to update, I get a message that says “A .bin file is missing”. I’ve tried uninstalling it then reinstalling it again but it hasn’t changed. What do these messages mean? Also, what are some other good free anti-virus programs? Thanks for any help.
