I dont have a single program that lets me just draw simple images (like circles and lines). isn't that ridiculous?
my needs are really simple so I dont want to go out and buy an expensive program like Adobe Illustrator. Whats a decent program that I could just download for free?
I'm surprised Google doesn't make something like this. They make SketchUp, which is for 3D drawing, but they don't seem to make anything for 2D drawing. Weird.

Sorry I'm not familiar with mac programs, I use Paintshop Pro but it is expensive but by far the best available imho.
If you're looking on line for a free download try a Google search with this criteria:
"paint program"+free+download
Make sure you use the quotes and the addition symbols exactly how I've typed it.
Google will tell you that you don't need to use quotes but that's not true, it drastically narrows your search to what you want, which reduces their bottom line, which is why they tell you not to use them
