not a program that does all of that in one, like an internet security suite. what's the best of each, individually, regardless of price.
i know that some suites are good, but i don't want one. i have many at home, but all take up a lot of resources. i also want ones that will securely and thoroughly remove any problems.
for firewall: i need one that is rly easy to use with file and printer sharing over a home network.
this is for my 3 computers: two xp computers, and 1 vista
Thanks!
at pcworld magazine, it said that pctools spyware doctor is amazing for spyware, should i go with that one for antispyware. at cnet download.com, they say comodo firewall pro is as good as one that you pay for. for antivirus, i know avg is good, but i've heard that some payed for standalone ones are better
this is not for starters. i need GOOD programs

there is no "BEST" because they all have their strengths and weaknesses. Also it depends on what you use your internet connection for? Movies? Games? Chat? Socializing? Some block sites and popups that you might need access to. Some are just more user friendly and simpler in design. The best ones though you'd have to be a major in programming to fully understand and use to its max potential. Just as reference, I use Norton Internet Security suit on my desktop, McAfee something or other on my laptop(got it free through my school) and AVG FREE on my wife's laptop. AVG Free is probably one of the most simple and damn decent considering its free.

avg for antivirus
zonealarm is a good firewall but it often interferes with file sharing so i just use windows build in one.

If you mean free programs then avast or avg plus avg antispyware or spyware terminator plus comodo firewall are a good combination.
Kaspersky is a top anti virus but it's certainly not free, unless possibly for just a short trial period?
