What is better, the McAfee Security Suite or Norton Internet Security 2009/360 v2?

February 26th, 2009 · 8 Comments

I can download McAfee for free from Comcast but I had a free trial from Norton when I bought my laptop and it seemed to work fine. But im no expert, which would keep my computer safer?

Out of those two, McAfee is probaly your best bet. But Spyware Doctor and Avast! is way better than those two programs. You should check them out.

McAfee is better than Norton because Norton is a big big resors hog!
But McAfee dus not protect you from very maney viruses.Mabe Norton
is better. If you want a hard time using your pc get Norton. If you wont to have an infected pc get McAfee.

NIS 2009 is WAYYY better then Mcafee. I've tested both and Mcafee is complete garbage.

Norton 360 is also a good product, but the Internet Security is better on resources and detection.

So, if your looking for an all-in-one try NIS 2009 with Norton Utilities 2009. Great stuff!

Cody only you can keep your computer safe.

Don't open email attachments and don't click links in emails either. Unless you asked for the link it could be bad for your computers health. Instead type in the link yourself or google it. That way you know it's the correct sight.

      For overall protection I like:

      http://www.superantispyware.com/
Realtime protection runs while you surf and keeps you safe(r).

Comodo firewall is also a big improvement over Windows firewall.

Malwarebytes makes an excellent addition to the Superantispyware to ferret out any hidden badies.
      http://www.malwarebytes.org/

Don't forget to let Windows automatically update itself. You can initiate it yourself if you are not sure it is already set to automatically download and install updates.

Forget the memory hogs you asked about. Bloattware.
