I used to have Windows Vista Home Premium which came with my computer, but than I got a free upgrade to Windows Vista Ultimate from Best Buy. I upgraded to Ultimate and I don’t see anything different except at the login screen instead of saying Windows Vista Home Premium at the bottom, it says Windows Vista Ultimate. Is there really a difference between Home Premium and Ultimate?

There’s not much of a difference except for some of the add-ons that come with Ultimate. Either way, it’s still Vista, and you should get very familiar with restoring your computer (I’ve had to restore my laptop six times in the last month because of Vista bugs).

No at least i dont think so what you should really do is return that computer to Best Buy and buy an apple because Vistas are all very bad.

Ultimate comes with the features of business as well as home premium has ultimate extras and a few others. Most of these features i have never needed but it depends.

Yes, there is, but nothing that you’re going to notice if you’re a home user. One of the big things, at least for business users, is that you can join a domain, which you can’t do in the home version. However, you can do that with Vista Business too, which is cheaper than Ultimate. The only really difference that I’ve found is that Windows released a few extras for Ultimate, such a Texas Hold ‘Em and a few other minor things. Texas Hold ‘Em might be available for other versions by now too. I’d say stick to Home Premium if it’s a personal computer. If it needs to join a domain, then you’d have to use at least Vista Business

Alright, you only think Vista is bad because you hear people talk about it. If you took an hour of your time and actually played around on Vista, you would like it too. Same thing always happens with newer OS that comes out, people dislike it because it is new and different(Same thing happened when XP came out). Example: Facebook’s new design, people hated it when it first came out, but given a little bit of time, they will find that it is actually more convenient to have it set up that way. So you go on thinking Mac is better than Windows is more broadly used(easier too). The only upside for a Mac really is no viruses.

Your Kidding Right..take an hour…Hum, Seeing that my Vista POS came new out of the box, and I spend roughly 17+ hours a day on it (3 of those re-booting), I think I surpass the 1-hour in-service.
Last week I bought a Mac–Good riddens to windows for the most part of my work. Consequently, I will need to run windows..but hey guess I just found out..the MAC can run Windows too; therefore, I will not need to upgrade for “better performance” AAH..no re-booting, virus’, or crashing. Tomorrow cant come soon enough.
