what is the best antivirus program/software? That can REALLY remove viruses?

July 2nd, 2008 · 3 Comments

I tried to search on the net, what is the best antivirus program/software? They say that AVG, Ad Aware, Panda Internet Security, is the good one. I went to the site of the following, it is said that this product has "antivirus protection, Protection Against Spyware, Trojans, Bots and more.

But when one of them is already in your system, it can remove the viruses?

I have an AVG antivirus and i scan my computer. it is said there is no threats found. But when i go to panda active scan there is a virus detected.

is there anyone can tell me what antivirus can really remove viruses?

Or the "re-format program" is the best for removing virus? =')

Personally I use AVG free, I doubt it's the best, but it's free, so that makes it better..

But reformatting is pretty much the ultimate solution to everything. Got a virus? Reformat. Low on drive space? Reformat. Girlfriend cheating on you? Reformat. Windows running a little slow? Reformat.

Of course, make sure you backup important things on a separate source before you reformat.

Your going to find that there will never be One that rules them all.

My preference (from doing it from managing 1000's perspective), is to have Symantec / Norton on the machine itself. They are one of the larges Anti-Malware companies out there.

Next, if my computer is suspicious of unwanted activity, I would look at doing things like online scanners such as

      http://www.kaspersky.com

      or

      http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

If you think you have something like Spyware/Adware, there are engines that you can download for that specific purpose as well. AdAware is one that I usually use.

If you do have Malware, your going to end up:

      1) Having the virus engine installed remove / fix it.
      2) Have an online scanner remove/fix it
      3) Go to a site like Castlecops and use the forum to walk you thru its removal it manually
      4) Rebuild your Puter!
