All three are very good. All three are considered 'the best'.
ESET NOD32 was named AV of the Year 2006 and 2007 by av-comparatives.org; and came a close second in 2008. Reportedly it has also scored the most VB100 awards. If you were after something light on system resources, NOD32 is a very good choice.
Avira AntiVir *Premium* was named AV of the Year 2008 (by av-comparatives.org). AntiVir *Personal* (the free version) is a very popular choice at the moment - but is incomplete; if you choose Avira, go for AntiVir *Premium* (the 'paid-for' version).
Kaspersky is also very good. If you were after a suite (internet security package), Kaspersky Internet Security is a very good choice - very good AV and a strong firewall.
