I'm looking for a FES (Free,Effective,Simple) Firewall, i have Comodo Right now but it is getting annoying, should i stay with Comodo, if so then how do i make it allot less annoying with its pop ups, if i should change then to what firewall.
Also I am not using Norton I am using Spybot: Search & Destroy and Ad-Aware. For the firewall i am currently using C-O-M-O-D-O.
Im not having pop ups on the Internet, i also use firefox and have ad block plus and no script, im getting the alerts from comodo.

go to downloads.com type in avast download the home version its free the go to avast .com and get a key for it. this is also free it will ask you if you want to shut down the computer to do a full scan do this and make sure you press delete all when you a prompted for this question. this is the best adware protection i have found it sounds to me you are using norton which is the worst.

To stop popups you need to have your popup blocker turned on!! If your using Internet Explorer, then use Firefox..It has better security and other features all round.

A decent free firewall that is PC Tools Firewall Plus. One can either choose "Normal User Mode" Or "Expert User Mode"'depending on the desired detail of alerts and application custom rules desired.
It is one of the few free firewalls that will work (and work well) on Vista.

BTW, firewall pop-ups get less and less with time. Once the firewall "training period" is over.

Hello ,
Free stuff just doesn't do enough .. you need to manualy check for updates and check for alerts and check for new attackers all the time to stay somewhat close to being protected to the fullest … you need simplicity for protection but will never find that simplicity all that simple . A good barrier of protection always need configuring . The user needs to adjust the Firewall to stop and allow data . Remember .. "Firewall" is 2 things . One is for Software and One is for Hardware . 2 Completely different areas . .. 2 completely different firewalls . Get a Software Firewall when it comes/included in an antivirus suite . A router will be your Hardware firewall . Always disable the Windows' Security Centers' (software) firewall when using a personal firewall or 3rd party firewall .
